At a loose end this weekend ? Why not take your family on a blackberry hunt ? All around the lanes and country roads, a bumper crop of blackberries is nicely ripening, just waiting to be picked. According to legend, they should not be picked after 11th October, as a Púca has made them unfit to eat by spitting on them (or worse) ! But if you are willing to take your chances with that warning, go out with the family and fill a basket or two. Blackberries are packed with vitamins C and K, and they contain iron, lots of B vitamins, Magnesium, Zinc and more.
