Trans lated into plain English, he taught that Jesus Christ was the Son of Ad am and the Virgin Mary. Blasphemy! “Wherefore I say unto you All man ner of sin and blasphemy shall be for given unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come." For behold, thus saith the Lord: This people begin to wax in iniquity; they understand not the scriptures, for they seek to excuse themselves in committing whoredoms, because of the things which are written con cerning David, and Soloman his son. “Behold, David and Soloman truly had many wives and concubines, which thing was abominable before me, saith the Lord.” Book of Mormon, Jacob, chapter 2, verses 23, 24 C o m m e n t : Again Joseph Smith got mixed up with the wrong god, because the only living and true God certainly did not justify Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, Solomon, or Joseph Smith, or Brigham Young or anyone else as touching the principle and doc trine of their having many wives and concubines. We agree with the Book of Mormon on these points, as quoted, where it de clares these things to be “ grosser crimes;—and abominable before me, saith the Lord, They understand not the scriptures, for they seek to ex cuse themselves in committing whore doms." In the Doctrine and Covenants, section 42, verse 22, we read; “ Thou shalt love thy wife with all thy heart, and shalt cleave unto her and none else.”
