If I am asked to name the one comfort in sorrow, the safe rule of conduct, the true guide of life, I must point to what in the words of a popular hymn is called "The Old, Old, Story," told in an old, old Book, which is God's best and richest gift to mankind.— William E. Gladstone.

Lesson: We have a cross on which the word “ COME” is printed. This is a fa miliar word in the Bible. Christ and His followers were always inviting people to come to Him for salvation. Paul was constantly asking people to come to the Saviour. Of him we read in Acts 28: 23, “And when they had ap pointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he ex pounded and testified the kingdom of God, per suad i ng them concern i ng Jesus . . . ” It will be necessary to fold this cross to tell this story of the Apostle Paul. I fold the right arm of the cross and the word is “ HOME.” Paul had left the Jew ish home city of Jerusalem, in order that he might invite the Gentiles to come to Christ, and have a HOME in heaven. When I fold the left arm of the cross, the word is “ ROME,” giving us the name of the city where Paul was inviting sin ners to come to Christ. So eager was Paul to see sinners saved that he was willing to be a prisoner in Rome, in or der that some could hear who otherwise would not. I will fold the top of the cross over the center, and the word is “ SOME.” We read, “And SOME believed the things which were spoken, and SOME believed riot” (Acts 28:24). What a joy it must have been to the Apostle Paul, there in the prison at Rome, to see SOME of the sinners come to the Saviour. We will again open the cross and let you see the word “ COME,” to remind you that even as Paul invited the un saved to come to Christ for salvation, so you are invited to COME to Christ to day. As refugees, we have lost everything, and our health was under mined during the years of hard labor and privation in the concentration camps.
