Fertilization, irrigation, mowing, and pest management practices for a healthy lawn will be discussed. Program is free but registration is required. The walk is not about the destination, but instead the awakening of your senses to the natural environment around you. Reconnect with nature during these mindful walks with a certified Forest Therapy guide. The walk is held entirely outdoors. Be prepared to walk over uneven terrain. Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. Meets at the stone circle/ledge south of the parking lot and in front of the bridge. Participants must be 12 years and older. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Kits generally include: Information/instruction sheets, coloring pages or scavengers hunts, supplies for crafts and materials/instructions for a game or hike. Some kits are designed for families with up to 4 children. Please see specific kit listing for more details on themes/materials and when they are available. Some kits offer additional craft materials available for an extra fee. An email confirmation will be sent when your kit is ready to pick up. Pick up your kit inside the nature center during open hours. (ah) CODE DATE R/N OH DEER! KIT: Spring time is baby time! Use our Oh Deer! Nature Discovery Kit to learn about White-tailed deer and their babies. Take home kit includes: Information sheet, signs of deer scavenger hunt, book list, coloring/activity sheets, supplies for four (4) fawn masks, and materials and/or instructions for a deer game. Four additional fawn masks plus coloring sheets available for an extra fee. Items not included: crayons or markers, tape, scissors. Available April 1 - May 31. Join a naturalist for a spring multi-week session of outdoor play. Each themed, but unstructured, nature playtime takes place completely outdoors rain or shine so dress for the weather.
