Martial Arts: ISKC Pre-Karate and Safety • AGES 4-7 Young children will develop agility, strength and coordination skills through fun and creative activities. This program, specifically designed to work with growing minds and bodies, enhances memory and agility skills, too. Watch your child blossom while learning karate and having a blast at the same time! Beginning students will not be permitted to register in the current session after the second class has met. Registration for continuers through advanced students will be accepted after the start date, but full class fee will be required. Martial Arts: Kid’s Karate Club and SafetyTime • AGES 4-14 This progressive martial arts program teaches the basics in karate, self- defense, sparring, kata and children’s safety with belt progression through Black Belt. It is taught in a unique way where children are encouraged to have fun and gain confidence. The program targets many building blocks including respect, self-esteem, self-confidence and leadership, but most importantly, family involvement. Parents may participate with their children at no cost as part of the Parent Helper Program. There is a Mandatory Uniform Requirement for this program; details will be provided at first class. Students earn increasingly higher belts as they progress in knowledge and abilities. Information regarding additional costs for T-shirt and uniform pants (Level 1) and uniform jacket (Level 2) will be discussed at first class and will be purchased directly through instructor. (lmo) LEVEL 1 - Students begin with simple exercises and routines that develop confidence and self-discipline as well as building coordination and strength. LEVEL 2 - Students proceed through more difficult routines that demand a higher level of focus and concentration. Two-person Kung Fu practice is introduced that allows the students to develop their skills together. Instructor approval is required. LEVEL 3 - This level is for those students that are on the road to their Kung Fu Black Belt. Training in child-appropriate staff and sword is introduced along with child-appropriate martial arts applications. Instructor approval is required.
