Closed Banquet Speaker Ivan Garcia: A Bilingual Speech Pathologist-to-be, with a 4.0 GPA, Shares His Perspective

I t has been said that that Good Old Kappa Spirit is “a personal sensi- bility of fraternity membership, characterized by a mature attitude towards brothers, loyalty to purpose and ideals and acceptance of respon- sibility for the fraternity’s meaningful survival.” Brother Garcia ably demon- strated that he has taken this to heart during his remarks. Ivan Garcia, (Kappa Alpha 2016) was initiated with 10 others. Inspired by a mentor, he conducted his due diligence and determined that, for him, there could be no other but Kappa Alpha Psi ® . What is more, he had something to offer the fraternity. Originally from Nevada, after graduation from high school he move to the North Central Province to gain an education. What he found, in addition, was life-long brotherhood, and an eventual invitation to be the closed banquet speaker at the 67 th Southern Province Council in the year that the Grand Chapter Meet-
