T hrough hard work perseverance, Deric A. Augustine’s (Lambda Omicron 2008) career has taken off. He starred in the Lifetime Michel’le biopic "Surviving Comp- ton" as DJ Yella. He was on the hit TV show "Queen Sugar" on OWN Network as the most anticipated character Felix Evans. He’s also appeared in other shows such as "The Vampire Diaries." "Saints and Sinners" and ABC's "Notorious". He appeared in BET’s "The Quad" in January as well as other movies. Deric Augustine is two minutes older than his identical twin brother Deven, born to the parents of Donna and Deric Augustine in New Orleans, Louisiana. The twins began their acting career at a young age in theater and also did print and catalog work under the guidance of their mother. At the age of 13, while working on the theater production "The King and I,” a talent scout recommended that the brothers move to Los Angeles to further their career but their mother suffered a stroke shorty thereafter. Brother Augustine was forced to take a break from acting to focus on caring for his mother. With mounting family medical bills, he decided to focus on his academics and athletics to put himself through college. A star football player at the University of New Orleans, he excelled in several subjects including Theater. After earning his Bachelor’s degree, he
