who have light, refuse the Holy Spirit the right to convict us of sin, .how can we expect the unregenerate to be con victed? If judgment is to begin at the house of God, surely we ought to pray for a deep conviction of sin. May God awaken us to this great danger. We must be an the last days. Yours for the truth, H. G. Yeats. HAVE WE DONE ANYTHING? “ I confess,” says Richard Baxter, “ to my shame that I remember no one sin that my conscience doth so much accuse and judge me for, as for doing so little for the saving of men’s souls, and deal ing no more fervently and earnestly with them for their conversion. I con fess to you that when I am alone, and think of the case of the poor, ignorant, worldly, earthly, unconverted sinners, that live not to God, .nor set their hearts on the life to come, my con science telleth me that I should go to as many as I can, and warn them night and day with tears, what will befall them if they do not turn; and be seech them, with all the earnestness that I can, to come in. to Christ and make no delay. And though T have many excuses come in from other busi ness, and from disability and want of time, yet none of them doth satisfy my own conscience, when I consider what heaven and hell are, which will, one of them, be the end of every man’s life. My conscience telleth me that I should follow them with- all possible earnestness, night. and day, taking no' denial of them till they return to God.” Oh, well with our land, if each min ister were like Baxter! Better still, if each saint were like him! But, alas! where are such ministers, where are such saints to be found?- The time is short. Men are dying. The night com- eth. Let us make haste, if we would do anything for.a perishing world.

Our young people’s societies are filled with giddy,' trifling young folks that in dulge and encourage all sorts of enter tainment that tend to gender lust. I recently attended one. 'We were seated in a circle and no matter which way one looked, all he could see was short dress es, bare arms and necks. I know some will say, “ Evil he who evil thinks,” But I am a young man with red bloody in my veins and why throw so much temptation in our way? How can a man pray or testify in such surround ings? I know that customs and styles of today are responsible for the obscene manner of dress. Oh, that God by the Holy Spirit could awaken a desire in the hearts of tha people to hate sin and even the appearance of evil in all forms. Let the women realize that they are stumbling blocks, dragging men down to hell through their suggestive, unholy, indecent manner of dressing. The writer went to a meeting and at the close the call for sinners to repent was given, and he was dealing with an anxious seeker and pointing him to the Lamb of God who only can save from sin. A young lady, who had sung a solo, came over and interrupted. She wore the latest mode of dress. She looked more like a model from a fashion house than a child of God. She stooped over the railing to talk to this man. Her loose-fitting garments exposed her per son in a shameful manner. I had to walk away. I prayed that God would convict that girl. I could not pray for the man. You can imagine the effect upon the man. The devil was on the job. I spoke to one of the older lady workers ahd asked her to speak to this young lady in a sisterly manner. She did so and the young lady told her it was none of her business and that she would wear what she pleased. These are the conditions prevailing in the churches all over the country. Can God work in and through evil? If we
