T HE K I N G ’ S B U S I N E S S Go into the darkest den of earth, and draw the black curtains behind you, until the place of your sin is as black as hell, but the flaming eye of God will penetrate the secret of -your darkness, and condemn you. “His eyes are upon the ways of man, and He seeth alt their goings. There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.” Job 34:21. A great multitude of the world’s deepest sins are committed at night. Murder, robbery and adultery all walk in the darkness, and cover their shame with the night. When the world is slumbering and sleeping, the vile of the earth are defiling themselves with un. speakable sins. God sees them. “ Be hold, He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.” For nearly two million black nights God has neither slumbered nor slept. For nearly two million midnights the slumberless eye of God has watched the unutterable sins of billions of totally depraved human beings. The wildest thoughts of our imagination cannot guess the number of

sins and crimes the holy eye of God has looked upon. No wonder there is a judgment. No wonder there is a hell. And if your eye had seen all the sin that God’s eye has seen, you would never again rail at the justice of a sinless God in bringing sinners into judgment. Thé prodigal son wandered far away from home, and hid his sin in a strange land. But when the poor wretch came to himself he realized that his sin could not get away from the eye of God, so in his misery he cried, “ Father, I have sinned against heaven and in thy sight.” There is no far country in the whole earth, where the sinner can escape the eye of God. “ For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth." 2 Chron. 16:9. “ For He look- èth to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven.” Jo,b. 28:24. There is no such thing as sinning in secret, neither will there ever be a day in Time or Eternity, when you can hide one single unforgiven sin. “ All things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.” Heb. 4:13.
