they do as they are asked at once, or they could never be true soldiers. I wonder if we are all good soldiers every day. Do we pout, sulk and poke with our errands and work at home and school? Now I am not going to ask you to say just now, for each one knows whether he or she has been a true sol dier, obeying at once. Prayer. Lesson Story.—We have a new scholar this morning in our class, and she is coming every Sunday. Her name is Helen and we are so glad to welcome Helen into our class, for we know she too is going to be a worker and go out after other boys and girls who do not go to Sunday School. Now Jennie, you tell us about our story for last week so Helen can hear it. Jennie, that was well done, which shows you listened well. ,We see by this story of King Uzziah what a dangerous thing pride is. That is, thinking too much about our selves. My, we have such an interesting story about a great prophet of God, whose name was Isaiah, and he knew King Uzziah, and felt very bad when the king became proud and disobeyed God. The good prophet Isaiah prayed for God’s people, and his heart was greatly burdened for them, as he saw them getting far away from God, who had blest His people. Many of them were rich and prosperous, but they were just living for themselves and for getting the Lord who had been so good to them. One day Isaiah was in the temple worshipping, and he had a vision of the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up. Above the throne were angels flying about, calling to one an other, saying, “ Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of Hi% glory.” Isaiah was* a good prophet of God and obeyed God,ftout now in this vision he was able to understand better God’s holiness, and he feels how un worthy he is before God, and he tells the Lord he is a man of unclean lips and lives among a people of unclean lips. You

which on earth? Whom did Isaiah say that he saw? Was it not a vision of God as King? What part of himself did he pronounce unclean? What part of himself did he pronounce undone? What kind of people did Isaiah dwell among? What purged Isaiah’s iniquity? Where did the seraph get the coal of Are? Is there any purging of sin apart from the altar where atonement is made by shedding blood? Does God ever commission until sin is purged? To whom, does the “ us” refer in verse 8? What does this message to Israel mean? Matt. 13:14; Mark 4:12; Luke 8:10; John 12:40-41; Acts. 28: 26-27; 2 Cor. 3:14-16. Are the Jews in this condition of blindness today? Will a Christian become blind to the things of God if he disobeys God? Prophetic Questions How long has this national blindness been upon the Jews? How long did God tell Isaiah it would last? Has verse 11 been fulfilled? Has the Lord removed the Jews far away from Palestine?' Does the Revised Version hold out a hope in verse 13? Shall a remnant of Jews re main in Palestine throughout the cen turies of desolation? Shall Israel stand like a tree stripped of leaves and fruit, apparently dead and yet ready to spring Into life in God’s time? Does verse 13 cover a period of 2000 years or more? God Calls Isaiah to Help Him. Isa. 6:1-13. Memory Verse.— “ Here am I; send me.” Isa. 6:8. Approach.—How many of you boys and girls like to watch soldiers march, all keeping step and standing so straight and erect when the commander calls, “ Halt” ? Of course BEGINNERS- we all'jio. James, can AND PRIMARY you tell me some- Mabel L. Merrill thing about soldiers, whether they obey quickly; or wait and have to be told two or three times? At once. Yes, indeed,
