Dear Cattle Producers, Welcome. I am really proud of this set of bulls. It is really hard sometimes to bring the knife out but at the end of the day, it increases the quality. At a time when a lot of people are discussing ‘What is the value of a bull? There is one thing that is not discussed: quality. I watch feeder cattle sell and look at quality of bulls used to make these calves. I am not condoning spending money just because. In 2025, if you spend $3500 vs $7000 for a bull and you sell your calves for $2000 vs $2500, a difference of $500 per calf, you only have to sell 7 calves to make up the difference in the bull prices. I have no idea how my bulls will sell but quality does matter. There are a few things I’m doing different this year. Insurance is available but on your own. Low key advertising so I’m giving that back to past customers as a rebate towards this year’s purchase. Another advantage to buying at the Nathan Palm Angus sale.
Thanks for your interest! Nathan Palm (605) 690-2019

As you look through this catalog you will see 4 traits that you as a commercial producer are most interested in. For each I will explain how I came up with these traits. They are just my opinion, and should be used as a guide to better your next calf crop. CALVING EASE : Numbers are important but I also consider pedigree, shape of head, and smoothness of the shoulder and sometimes it is not the bull’s fault. You have to know your heifers/cows for this one to be successful. GROWTH : You need frame, bone, and width. Substance. I call it a 3 dimensional bull. I start with it as a calf and continue it through all stages of life. Do NOT confuse this with fed on performance. CARCASS : All you can do here is look at pedigree and their numbers. And hope that they bred true to that. MATERNAL : This is the toughest one. Time will only tell us if I’m right or wrong. To tip the odds in my favor I look at dam and maternal grandam if possible. What are the condition of their feet? Of their udders? I look at maternal as a longevity trait. Like I said these are just my recommendations. If you need more information or have questions please get a hold of me. All sale bulls will go back to Palm Angus Ranch and kept at no charge. They will be delivered after semen testing is completed in May or June. If you need your bull sooner please contact me.
