CIPP Payroll: need to know 2018-2019

National Work Life Week 2018 – 1 to 5 October 1 October 2018

Employers can use National Work Life Week to provide activities for staff, and to showcase your flexible working policies and practices.

National Work Life Week is Working Families’ annual initiative that gives employers the chance to showcase how they provide work life balance for their staff.

The week is an opportunity for both employers and employees to focus on well-being at work and work-life balance. Employers can use the week to provide activities for staff, and to showcase their flexible working policies and practices.

Need a little help or inspiration? Some of the ideas from previous years include:

• Blogs/vlogs/tweets from staff on how they work flexibly to balance work and home life • Blogs/vlogs/tweets from parents on shared parental leave • Clinics on flexible working with senior executives on talking about how they’ve progressed their careers • Re-launch of parent and carer policies • Family/Parent/Carer Networks have run events and webinars • Run a showcase on job sharing • Onsite health checks and healthy eating talks • Lunch time walks or exercise/relaxation/meditation classes • Participation in workplace orchestras and choirs • Drop-in sessions on, for example, financial wellbeing/ employee benefits • Sessions on physical and mental wellbeing

Join the conversations on social media using #WorkLifeWeek and @workingfamUK.

Working Families has a Toolkit you can download, case studies you can read, and lots more. Go to Working Families for further information on how to get involved in this year’s #WorkLifeWeek.
