According to Protect whilst this is good news for Europe, UK whistleblowers are being left behind its European neighbours. This is missing from the current UK whistleblowing legislation, PIDA (the Public Interest Disclosure Act) introduced 20 years ago. Protect Chief Executive, Francesca West said, “We are calling on the UK government to urgently review and amend our PIDA legislation so that the public interest is protected and workers feel safe to raise concerns about wrongdoing risk or malpractice and harm is prevented…UK whistleblowers will be facing reduced rights compared to other EU citizens when the UK leaves the EU.”

Tax-Free Childcare – communicating to your employees 10 October 2018

Over 440,000 parents now have a Tax-Free Childcare (TFC) account but there are still many who could be missing out.

Last month HMRC began radio and digital advertising for TFC to encourage parents to visit Childcare Choices, where they can learn more about TFC and the other government support that’s on offer to them.

The government has produced materials to help you communicate the new support to your employees.

In an updated communications toolkit you can find useful email templates, leaflets, posters and social media content.

Smaller businesses to have wider access to the Financial Ombudsman Services 18 October 2018
