Customers calling the helplines will be played a recorded message telling them how to: • get confirmation of their National Insurance number • report and confirm changes in their circumstances
After this, customers may receive a SMS text message asking them to take part in a survey about their experience. HMRC will use telephone number 07860 064 195 to send the SMS survey questions. HMRC will not ask for any personal or financial information.
Emails and phone calls requesting stakeholders to take part in an online survey
During September 2018, HMRC will send an email to a sample of stakeholders informing them that they will be emailed by Populus, an independent research agency, to take part in a 15 minute online survey. Populus will then email the stakeholders who have not asked to opt out of the research with: • a link to the survey • phone numbers and email addresses for contacts at HMRC and Populus. • Stakeholders can ask for more information about the research project, or opt out at any time. Further emails and telephone calls will be made during September and October 2018, to encourage those who have not completed the survey to take part in the research.
