We know that one of the biggest barriers for Agents is that they cannot register for the Payrolling of Benefits in Kind service on behalf of their clients. The policy team would very much value hearing all views within this survey – together with feedback to policy about how you have overcome this particular barrier.

Improving the process of Student Loan Stop Notices 15 February 2018

From April 2019 a new student loan will be coming into repayment and processes are being updated to allow for the Introduction of the Post Graduate Loan (PGL) repayment.

Both HMRC and the Student Loan Company (SLC) are reviewing the number of Stop Notices (SL2) that are currently issued and the rate of response by employers. Whilst compliance is generally good, there are still a significant number issued that fail to get any response. HMRC and SLC are keen to hear what action could be taken, or improvements that can be made, to help employers to respond and action the SL2 at the right time.

Is the guidance on GOV.UK sufficient to help employers? Is the notification service active and timely enough to alert employers to take action?

NEST User Groups – would you like to be a member? 5 March 2019

We know that many CIPP members use the NEST pension scheme either for their own employees or as an agent for their payroll clients. We have been in discussions with NEST about setting up user groups to enable CIPP members to have contact with NEST and to provide feedback.

Recognising that the experience of employers may be different to those using NEST as a payroll agent, the intention is to initially set up two user groups, though the purpose of each will be the same:
