Charles Counsell to become TPR’s new Chief Executive 20 December 2018
The Pensions Regulator (TPR) has announced the appointment of Charles Counsell as its new Chief Executive, replacing Lesley Titcomb.
Charles will lead TPR as it implements its clearer, quicker and tougher approach to pension regulation to make sure that over 30 million members of workplace pension scheme members are properly protected.
Charles will join TPR at the start of April 2019 following the departure of Lesley Titcomb at the conclusion of her term as Chief Executive at the end of February.
Charles is currently Chief Executive of the Money Advice Service, ensuring millions of people have access to free, independent financial information and guidance. He was previously Executive Director of Automatic Enrolment at TPR, designing and leading the delivery of the highly successful AE programme which has resulted in nearly ten million more people saving into a workplace pension.

Countdown bulletin 40 – December 2018 21 December 2018
This publication provides important guidance and information to pension scheme administrators about the end of contracting-out, which although came to an end in April 2016, schemes are still submitting termination and transfer notices with end dates on or after 6 April 2016.
These bulletins provide important updates for pension scheme administrators to enable them to make sure all individuals contracted out pension rights are secured correctly.
