HMRC Talking Points meetings for Tax Agents 11 July 2018

Upcoming Talking Points sessions from HMRC include ‘Making Tax Digital for Business (MTD) and VAT’, ‘Getting payroll right – Your data matters’ and ‘Disguised Remuneration – detailed settlement calculations’.

HMRC continually run a great variety of ‘Talking Points’ subjects which provide ongoing information, guidance and tips to help you to understand various tax issues.

Making Tax Digital for Business (MTD) and VAT

This session will cover information published in the MTD VAT notice, including, record keeping requirements, making adjustments, what HMRC mean by ‘digital links’ and an explanation of the ‘soft landing’. If you are new to MTD you may want to review the Help and support for Making Tax Digital page on GOV.UK before the session.

Getting payroll right – Your data matters

The data you submit is important as it can potentially impact your employees’ tax assessments and Universal Credit awards. This webinar is about letting HMRC help you to get it right, and will provide tips on how to run an easy and successful payroll.

Disguised Remuneration – detailed settlement calculations

This webinar looks in detail at calculations for settling disguised remuneration avoidance schemes before the disguised remuneration loan charge arises in April 2019. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about any part of the process that you may need help with.
