CIPP Payroll: need to know 2018-2019

CIPP members are invited to join HMRC’s Agent Forum 31 August 2018

All agents, who are a member of a professional body, such as the CIPP, are invited to join HMRC’s Agent Forum.

This dedicated Agent Forum is hosted in a private area within the HMRC Online Customer Forum. You can interact with other agents and HMRC experts to discuss topical issues and processes.

If you are a member of a professional body and would like to join, HMRC’s Tax Agent Blog has laid out the steps you need to take to register:

Step 1 •

Click here for the forum page

• Click on “Register” in the top right hand corner of the page • Read and (if you are content) click “I agree to these terms” • Submit the details requested.

Step 2 Once you have completed step 1, please email agentforum.wt@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk to request access to the HMRC Agent Forum. You will need to send the following identity information: • Your first name and surname • Confirmation of your work email address • The name of your firm/organisation • The name of your professional body/ies • Your professional body registration number/reference.

Once you have sent your email, the forum team will be in-touch to confirm your acceptance. After this, you will have access to HMRC’s new and improved Agent Forum

Don't miss out on HMRC’s Talking Points 4 September 2018

Have you wanted to join one of HMRC’s Talking Points webinars, but the times did not suit your busy schedule? The webinars are recorded and HMRC share the link to register and view as soon as it becomes available.

You can find a list of recordings on GOV.UK.

During June and July 2018 HMRC delivered a total of 21 live Talking Points webinars with over 8,500 agents attending. The most popular subjects were:

Making Tax Digital for VAT, 3 webinars delivered to a total attendance of 2,521 agents Income from Property, 3 webinars delivered with a total attendance of 1,748 agents.

Other popular subjects included: Inheritance Tax - enveloped UK residential property and related finance; and, an introduction to the Enterprise Investment Scheme.
