Why did you choose the field/profession you are in today? I was looking for a career that involved hands on creativity. I earned a fine arts degree and used the skills and vision I developed to work at various marketing agencies and as a freelancer. What was your greatest professional accomplishment in the last year? My greatest accomplishment was exploring new digital marketing platforms and formats for advertising our firm and services. Who or what has been the strongest influence on your career? The non-profit organizations that I volunteer my design services for. They remind me why marketing is important and valued. What unique qualities and/or personality traits do you feel make you most successful in your profession? I am a listener and a team player. I take time to listen to the challenges of the brokers, the property managers, the clients. I process the information and formulate an action plan to solve a marketing challenge. What challenges and/or obstacles have you faced and overcome to become as successful as you are today? As most marketing professionals will attest, the ever-changing nature of marketing is a constant challenge. To avoid becoming complacent, I continue my education to stay on top of the latest technology and trends. Do you feel being a woman in your profession is an advantage, disad- vantage, or no advantage? Why or Why Not? I don’t believe my gender

Tell us how and when you began your career in the profession you are in: I began my career in 1984 as a receptionist when the company was known as Ettwein-Ecker Construction and March Development. Over the years I have served in many capacities. In addition to my role as Receptionist, I also served as an Administrative Assistant to the owners and project managers. When the company became NAI Summit, I continued in my administrative role supporting the property managers as well as working with the building service technicians and performing dispatch services. Along the way I developed relationships with our clients, tenants, and vendors as their main contact for all maintenance issues. Eventually technology advanced and I became more involved in building services, transitioning from my administrative role to strictly working with the maintenance technicians in my current position as Building Services Department Manager. Who or what has been the strongest influence on your career? My mother had the strongest influence on my career. She was an Office Manager for a national commercial construction company, and I spent many summers during my high school years working with her and learning the business. Not only did I learn a lot about the construction field, I also witnessed the imple - mentation of computers. When I applied for the position at Ettwein/Ecker Construction, having previous knowledge and experience in the field gave me a great advantage. What unique qualities and/or personality traits do you feel make you
