STEP 1 BOOK AN ASSESSMENT Visit www.preston.ac.uk/assessment-booking Assessments will be completed in-person at Preston College. When you book you will be sent useful revision materials, which will help you prepare. Once you have received your result at the end of the assessment, tutors will be available to discuss your various study options, including daytime and evening classes. A reminder will be sent to you via text or email to attend your assessment. If you are unable to attend an in-person appointment, please do let us know, so we can offer your assessment slot to someone else. To cancel an appointment, please call 01772 225522. STEP 2 JOIN YOUR CLASS Once on your course, you will be supported by specialist tutors, where you will study alongside others with a similar level and ability, giving you the best chance of success.

English and Maths qualifications are essential for everyday life and can open doors to new career and education opportunities. Whether you are studying for personal reasons or professional development, we offer a range of qualifications from Entry Level to Level 2 Functional Skills, our short Introduction to Creative Writing course, and GCSEs. Our Functional Skills courses run for 10- 12 weeks, with new start dates available throughout the year. Classes take place twice a week (three hours per session), totalling six hours per week. GCSE programmes start in September, with classes running once a week (three hours per session), from September through to June. All courses offer the flexibility to choose from daytime or evening classes. Before you begin your course, you will need to complete an assessment to determine your current skill level. If you don’t already have a GCSE grade 4 (formerly grade C) or above in the subject you wish to study, your course will be fully funded* and you will not need to pay any fees. *Eligibility criteria applies
