• Proven experience in delivering utility consumption, cost and carbon reduction and in energy procurement • Portfolio of proven energy management and strategy, and sustainability initiatives • Strong leadership and demonstrable experience of implementation of energy saving projects • Experience in developing and deploying environmental and sustainability impact strategies • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of environmental & associated regulations, as well as relevant industry sector legislation • Communicating and influencing at executive level • BEMS system knowledge • Sound working knowledge of utility markets and procurement strategies / methodologies • Commercial acumen / approach to environmental planning • Strong technical expertise to deliver industry leading energy management • Knowledge or understanding of the principles of GRI reporting • Ability to develop procedures and protocols in specialist areas • Ability to advocate for UPP and sell sustainability proposition • Ability to develop and deliver inspirational environmental training programmes • Ability to develop and deploy excellent coaching attributes • Persuasive, compelling and influential written and verbal communication skills • Strong financial acumen in terms of budgeting, forecasting and cost control • Strong stakeholder management skills • Relevant technical qualifications in Energy Management and Sustainability • Membership of relevant professional body • Innovative and forward thinking with a ‘can do’ approach • A positive thinker who influences through coaching and recognition • Ability to work to defined deadlines, autonomously and on own initiative
