Why did God send Jesus into the world? (3 :17 .) How many of you believe th a t Jesus died for you? How many have ever told any one else th a t you have taken Jesus to be your Saviour? W hat do those who believe on Jesus have? (3 :36 ) Memory V erses: - “ I am th e good shepherd, .the good shepherd giveth His life for the sheep.” John 10.11. “Therefore doth my F ath e r love me, because I lay down my life, th a t I m ight tak e it again." John 10:17. & A lthough Jesus knew th a t He was to die soon, He was thinking more of those who loved Him th a n of Himself. In th is la st beau tifu l prayer, Jesus prayed for His disciples especially. He knew they would be persecuted after He was in Heaven and He wanted them to keep loyal and tru e to Him through it all. (Explain w hat persecution was for th e disciples; is fo r us. How those who love and serve Jesus today, are many times ridiculed, sneered at, scorned and even killed as they were by the Turks in Asia.) He did not w ant them taken out of th e world by death, bu t He prayed they m ight remain faith ful and tru e to Him, no m atter what was done to them ; th a t they m ight show th e world how different Chris tian s were from those who did not love Jesus. Christians have to live in this world bu t they need not be like those who follow Satan and not Jesus. Chris tian s are in th e world bu t not of it. Satan rules th e people of th e world so Christians must not be like them . Christians must be like boats in the w ater. As long as the boat stays in th e w ater and does not let th e w ater get into it, all is well; bu t th e moment PRIMARY K ate H. Haus
