HYMN TO OUR MOTHERS F aith of our Mothers, living yet In cradle song and bedtime prayer, In nursery love and fireside lore, Thy presence still pervades the air; F aith of our Mothers, living faith, We will be tru e to thee till death. F aith of our Mothers, lavish faith, The fount of childhood’s tru st and grace, O, may thy consecration prove The well-spring of a nobler race; F aith of our Mothers, lavish faith, We will be tru e to thee till death. F aith of our Mothers, guiding faith F o r youthful longing— youthful doubt, How blurred our vision, blind our way Thy providential care w ithout; F aith of our Mothers, guiding faith, We will be tru e to thee till death. F aith of our Mothers, Christian faith, In tru th beyond our man-made creeds, Still serve th e home and save the church, And b reathe thy sp irit th ro ’ our deeds: F aith of our Mothers, Christian faith, We will be tru e to thee till death. —A. B. Patten. WHO POSSESSES YOU? To own and to possess are not the same. There is a difference between the two words. I used to both own and possess a certain umbrella. Now, I own it still bu t somebody else possesses it. So, sad to say, though God owns us still, too often the World possesses us.—Dixon.

746 by th e name of Mary Magdalene. There are so many by the name of Mary th a t we have to have her o th er name too, so we; will know which Mary. Jesus was passing through th e cities and vil lages and telling all the people the good news of the gospel, how He had come to save people from th e ir sins, if they would believe on Him. Among the peo ple He met in one city, was Mary Mag dalene, and she was in g reat trouble and suffering, and no one could help her, for th ere were evil, wicked spirits in her th a t caused h er to do very wicked things. Nobody wanted people w ith evil spirits to come near him. When Jesus saw her, he felt sorry and he commanded the evil spirits to come c u t of her. No one else in all the world could have done this, b u t he was God’s Son, and he had power even over the evil spirits. My, w hat a change came over Mary Magdalene, now th a t Jesus was living in her heart, and Mary showed her love to Jesus by helping Him in every way she could. She, w ith other women whom Jesus had helped, cooked and prepared him food as he w ent about preaching. Then when Jesus was crucified Mary stood by and saw him die, and she felt so sorry and sad. Then she went down to the grave very early Sunday morning to pu t sweet perfumes on his body. W hat happened on th a t morning?: Yes, Jesus was alive, and Mary had a chance to show h er love far b etter th an by putting sweet perfumes on his dead body. Af te r she had seen Jesus she w ent back to the disciples and told them she had seen th e Lord, and told them He had talked w ith her. Oh, w hat a beau tifu l picture it must have been for those disciples to have looked into Mary’s face as sh e told them Jesus was alive. I know it m ust have been w reathed in smiles and joy was shining out of her eyes. You know when I get to Heaven, I am going to hun t Mary and have h er tell me th a t story w ith her
