Isaiah 26:3. H H THE JUNIORS Jo h n 18:15-17, 25-27. Review: W hat was our lesson about last week? (Jesus praying for us.) W hat did He say to th e F a th e r about us? (v. 18.) Why did He w ant us to go out and tell o th er people about Him? (He loves them .) Did somebody have to tell us about Jesus? (Yes.) Someone tell us who it was told you about Jesus,— when and how. Did Jesus go about telling people th a t God loved them and wanted to save them? (Yes.) Did every one accept Him? (No.) Did some people believe Him? (Yes.) Can you tell th e names of any th a t believed on Jesus? (Ch. 12:1-3.) Have you found ou t why some boys and girls do not believe on Jesus? Lesson: Do any of you remember th e lesson we had about Jesus washing His dis ciples’ feet? (John 13:6-9.) Do you remember what P eter said to th e Lord? Today we are to study about Peter again and we are going to feel very sor ry for him. When Jesus was arrested by the officers what disciples followed Him? (P e ter and John.) Where did P eter stand when John went into th e palace? (At th e door.) How did P ètèr get into th è housè?
T HE K I N G ’S B U S I N E S S (John knew th e officer and told th e servant to let P eter in.) W hat did the servant say to Peter? (v. 17.) W hat did P eter reply? ( “ I am not.” ) Did he tell th e tru th ? (No.) Why did he say th a t? (He was afraid to tell the tru th .) W hat was P eter doing? (v. 25.) P eter felt very brave when Christ was arrested , and took a sword and cut off th e ear of th e high p riest’s ser vant. But now he does not feel so brave. W hat did he do? (v. 27.) Would you ever be ashamed of Jesus? Would you be ashamed to carry a Testament? Would you be afraid to tell people th a t you had taken Christ as your Saviour? Don’t you th ink P eter felt very sorry th a t he denied th e Lord th a t loved him so? Let us th ink of some of the ways in which people can deny Jesus, and tell about it next week. Memory Verse: “F o r I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ; for it is th e power of God unto salvation to every one th a t believeth.” (Rom. 1: 16.) . É è M In spite of the many wonderful things Jesus told the disciples during thè walk to th e gar den th a t night, the disciples were sor rowful. Their beloved Jesus was going to leave them ; they could not forget th a t sad fact. Jesus said, “A little while you shall not see Me, and again, in a little while you shall see Me, be cause I go to My F a th e r.” It puzzled th em ;^th ey could not understand what He m eant; it made them still more sad.
