Source: InfraNomics Spodumene concentrate is the lowest level of processing of lithium and the incentive is to value add locally and reduce exports of spodumene in the future. "Exporting lithium as spodumene really means that WA is exporting 972kg of waste product and 28 kg of lithium in every tonne shipped. That in itself is justification to only export refined products." “
