BICSI Brief Volume 2, Issue 2

candidates, informing candidates of the demands of Board or LDC service, and helping them complete the self-nomination process if needed. Every LDC member reviews and scores each self-nomination based on a standardized rating scale approved by the LDC. Based on the results of the initial review, the LDC will select the top 8 Board candidates and the top 4 LDC candidates who best match the desired qualifications (June). The LDC then interviews and scores each of these top candidates using an appropriate set of questions and scoring criteria (July). Once the interviews are completed, the LDC selects the top 4 Board candidates and top 2 LDC candidates who best match the desired qualifications and then publishes the uncontested slates to all members. BICSI members will have a 30-day petition

period (August) to consider the slates and submit a petition to add alternate candidates. If members do not submit any petitions, the slated candidates are considered accepted by the membership. If petitions are submitted to add an eligible alternate candidate, the LDC may publish a contested slate giving members 30 days to cast their votes (October - November). The 4 Board candidates and the 2 LDC candidates with the highest number of votes are elected. The election cycle ends when LDC officially announces the newly elected Board Officers, Board Directors, and LDC Members after all candidates have been notified of their individual results. Thank you to the volunteers serving on the LDC.
