The 3 rd joint conference of the Association of Institutions for Tropical Veterinary Medicine (AITVM) and the Society for Tropical Veterinary Medicine (STVM) convened in Montpellier, France, from May 21st to 24th, 2024. This scientific symposium saw the active participation of our VPH technical team members, Dr Guillaume Convert and Dr Hajar Boutayeur, reflecting Boehringer Ingelheim’s commitment to advancements in Veterinary Medicine. The conference provided a platform for robust scientific discourse on the latest advancements and challenges in the field. Boehringer Ingelheim, with its unwavering commitment to Veterinary Medicine, engaged in in-depth discussions on critical topics such as zoonotic and vector-borne diseases, the impact of climate change on disease emergence, antimicrobial resistance, livestock health and productivity, parasitology, rural development, animal welfare, and pedagogy in tropical veterinary medicine. The theme of the conference, «Tropical Veterinary Medicine in Challenging Times: How Should Academic and Research Programs Adapt?» resonated with Boehringer Ingelheim’s ethos of adaptability and innovation in response to the dynamic global health landscape. It underscored our ongoing efforts to adapt and innovate in response to the evolving global health landscape.

The VPH TADtalk, our scientific newsletter, was disseminated among participants and received commendable feedback.
