Examinations Both Separate Science and Combined Science are linear courses, which means that pupils will sit all the examinations in the summer of Year 11. For both options there will be a total of six examination papers: two Biology, two Chemistry and two Physics and includes multiple choice, structured/closed, short answer and open response questions. There is no coursework element to this course, but pupils will need to complete a number of required practicals as part of the course. The contents of the practicals will be assessed in the written examinations.
