Science AQA
Introduction These courses are designed to be interesting and inspiring in the modern world. At the end of the science courses pupils should have enough knowledge to make sense of the many scientific issues that we encounter in our lives today. At Holmwood House, we offer two GCSE routes for pupils in Science. All pupils begin by following the AQA Separate Science courses in Biology, Chemistry and Physics which result in the pupils receiving 3 GCSEs. During Year 10, some pupils may instead move to the AQA Combined Science GCSE, this decision is made in consultation with the pupils and their parents. If pupils chose to sit Combined Science they will receive 2 GCSEs in Science. The content of both courses is outlined below:
