Samantha O’Sullivan MCIPPdip, policy lead at the CIPP, highlights the array of work the policy team does for CIPP members and the wider payroll industry
H aving been a member of the CIPP for over a decade before joining the policy and research team, I can hold my hands up and say, I never had a full understanding of what the policy and research team did. I was aware of the News Online membership email which was delivered to me once a week and the legislative updates delivered at our Annual Conference and Exhibition each year. However, I never truly understood the vast array of invaluable work the team undertook for CIPP members and the wider payroll industry. In this article, I aim to highlight the work carried out, so you’re aware of the full extent of the work our team does for you . The team’s strategy To begin, I want to share the policy team’s strategy, and what it is we stand for. The policy team ACTS on behalf of CIPP members and the wider payroll profession in everything it does. Each letter of ‘ ACTS ’ can be broken down into our strategic objectives. We’re timely (T) : ● as soon as we’re made aware of news, we digest the information and produce a news article, which we publish on the
news area of our website, and across our social media channels ● the news area of our website is available for all payroll professionals to view, it isn’t restricted to members only, so ensure you bookmark us and keep an eye out for our daily updates ● we publish a weekly LinkedIn newsletter, The Payroll Pages , on thought-provoking topics.
