PAYROLL PETS

Modern life is incredibly busy. Combining work and home life can be a balancing act, and recently, we’ve all been exposed to considerable uncertainty. Pets can really help our mental well-being and help us find some solace and stability in difficult times. We asked you, the payroll professionals, to show us your pets.

Here are just a few of your wonderful furry and feathered friends...

Name: Bobby Sent by: Michelle Matthews ACIPP, payroll manager, Kinetic PLC “This is Bobby. We got him during the pandemic, and he has completely changed mine and my fiancé’s lives for the better. “He quickly learned that when I finish a phone call, that’s his cue for some attention and belly rubs. He’ll jump onto my office chair any chance he gets, my little helper. As we know, payroll can be a stressful job but having Bobby with me when working from home makes the days that little bit easier.”

Name: Blu Sent by: Eva Garoufi MCIPP, head of payroll and benefits, CIS Security Limited “Blu kept me positive during the first lockdown, when working from home was new. She calms me down and makes me laugh. She understands when I’m upset and lets me cuddle her … and she doesn’t like hugs, which makes it even more special as she puts my needs first. “As we’re now on a hybrid working pattern, she’s my only company during the day and she seems to enjoy me being around. The moment I sit in my home office, she’ll climb on the back of my chair and make herself comfortable on my desk – usually on top of important documents, calculators and other items I need to use. And she doesn’t like it if I have to move her!”

Name: Lola Sent by: Aimie Deniz MCIPP, strategic payroll manager, Moorepay “This is Aimie’s dog, Lola, who loves watching payroll updates. Here, she’s pictured watching the policy team’s very own Mathew Akrigg presenting on one of our webinar sessions.”

Name: Elmo Sent by: Rachel Coles MCIPPdip, payroll manager, The Children’s Society “Elmo loves helping with most things but thinks payroll takes up too much of my time so will try and distract me in any way possible.”

If you’ve submitted your payroll pet to us and they’re not included, you’ll see them in a future issue of Professional .
