These situations disrupt business, affect the work environment, and suck all the energy out of you. It is a tough job to be helpful and provide great customer service when a guest is confrontational, unreasonable, or over demanding. Let us not overlook the impact on your store’s profits. Many times, these situations result in performing work for no pay, refunds or even a lost customer. And do not forget your reputation is at risk. In this course, you will learn techniques to identify the “difficult” customer early. Discover creative ways to cope with guest’s demands and complaints. Gain strategies to resolve complaints quickly — and to everyone's satisfaction. Repair broken relationships with guests that might otherwise been lost forever. No longer be challenged with difficult customer interactions and enjoy work with less stress and fewer frustrations. Presented By: Haas Performance Consulting Speaker: Bill Haas

This course enhances the skills of the service professional working as the interface between the customer and the business, with a focus on a light technical overview of a vehicle’s steering and suspension system. In this course, we will explore the tool options available to technicians, as well as cover the operation and use of a lab scope in detail. We will then work through several case studies demonstrating the diagnostic power of a lab scope. This course will be beneficial to anyone desiring to increase their diagnostic ability, whether or not a lab scope is available. The goal of this course is to prepare the aftermarket technician for the proper application and use of a lab scope to solve diagnostic problems and improve efficiency. After completing this course, a technician will have the knowledge to: understand the limitations of scan data and lab scope tooling options; understand voltage drop and how to measure it; perform a relative compression test; use an amp probe; check high and low side driver circuits; and much more!

The goal of this course is to prepare the aftermarket technician to diagnose and repair push button start systems. Technicians will learn to differentiate between a smart key system fault and a module-controlled starter fault. Technicians will learn the core components involved with all push button start systems, as well as the OE specific components and their operation on four different vehicles. After completing this course, a technician will have the knowledge to: understand module controlled starting systems; understand the necessary inputs to allow for passive engine start; identify service and repair issues; diagnose wireless and wired communication faults; read and interpret a starting system wiring schematic and more!

This course is designed for technicians who already have a solid electrical foundation and are looking to understand today’s vehicles complex body electrical systems. It will cover multiplex network communications and network system diagnostics. We will look at network topology for various body electrical systems and discuss how system modules and components interact with one another. After completing this course, a technician will have the knowledge to: analyze and test various network signals and components, diagnose and test vehicle body control systems, replace and program a body control module or gateway module, understand body control system operation strategies, and employ scan tool usage in conjunction with electrical circuit tests with a DMM or lab scope.

Both in-cylinder pressure transducers and manifold vacuum transducers used with a digital storage oscilloscope (DSO) can reduce valuable diagnostic and tear down time on today’s VVT equipped multi-cam engines. Engine performance and emissions can be severely impacted by cam timing concerns caused from lack of oil, failed timing chain tensioners, and/or stretched timing chains or belts. In this course, you learn the benefits of modern diagnostic equipment and learn when and how to use these testing techniques on the vehicle.
