31 trees planted along Notre-Dame in Embrun
La municipalité de Russell plantera 31 arbres de six variétés différentes pour remplacer les frênes morts qui longeaient la rue Notre-Dame à Embrun. Mayor Pierre Leroux, members of council, Russell Township staff and Beyond the House staff planted 31 trees along Notre Dame Street, between Exit Realty and Embrun Ford in Embrun. The trees, which are from six different varieties, will replace the dead Ash trees that lined the street for years. Planting will
beginmid-May and take approximately one week to complete. The cost associated with the tree planting is approximately $22,000, included in the 2017 budget. “While there was an unfortunate need to take down numerous trees along Notre- Dame Street in Embrun, Russell Township is pleased to replant trees, which will be better
suited for such a high traffic area”, shared mayor Pierre Leroux. The variety of trees selected by Cindy Cluett, owner of Beyond the House, include Serviceberries, Japanese Tree Lilacs, Amur Maples, Hackberries, Oaks and Hop Horn- beams.These will provide the township with a number of benefits, including a nature-
inspired streetscape, a habitat for a variety of birds and shelter for small animals, a barrier against wind and snow. In addition, it will prevent erosion and reduce dust, green- house gas emissions and noise pollution and produce oxygen as well as a beautiful streetscape for pedestrians and motorists to enjoy.

GRADUATE EDUCATORS, ST-JEAN & LA CROISÉE DAYCARE The Graduate Educator will be under the supervision of the Daycare Manager and be responsible for: x Delivering an educational program including activities that are geared towards the children development; x Ensuring the health, the security and the well-being of children; x Assuring a professional and efficient management of the programs and activities of the service; The candidate must possess a College degree in Early Childhood Education or in the process of completing an apprenticeship program and be a member of the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario. The candidate must submit the appropriate criminal check and hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification and must be 18 years or older. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of French. English an asset.
