If you are reading this the chances are you will somewhat agree with the statement that the Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup is amongst the most important and famous horse racing trophies in the world T he spirit of community has offered hope. Individuals coming together to make something hard a little so much more to people if they can see it up close and even lift it up. It’s an honour usually restricted to the racewinners so in away it is amassive privilege. I love
easier, to work a little better, to feel a little happier. Cheltenham is honoured to be part of many communities, and we are proud to support each of them in any way we can. Our involvement is wide ranging. From offering tickets to local charities’ fundraising to channelling efforts into more complex initiatives, we ensure that we always work to support as many individuals and causes as we can.

Youwould think itwould gowithout saying that | the residents of the CheltenhamTownwould have an affinitywith the trophy, and be proud of the fact that one of the greatest races on Earth has been run andwon on your doorstep nearly every year since 1924. Judging by the interest being shown in the inaugural Boodles Gold Cup Community Tour, youwould be absolutely correct. Literally everyonewants to get up close and personal with the Cup and putting the itinerary together ended up in the necessity to hold a ballot. Andre Klein, Cheltenham Racecourse’s Community Engagement Manager, once stood on the top of Mt Cook in NewZealand, with the Melbourne Cup trophy in the company of and legendary jockey, Greg Hall whowon the Australian showpiece in 1992 . Whilst the CheltenhamGold Cup Community tour isn’t heading to those sort of heights (it might go up Cleeve Hill) the objectives of the exercise remain the same. “Wewant people to build an associationwith the Gold Cup at a different kind of level.
