HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO INSTALL? The time required to install the raised floor depends on the type of material, the final floor height and the configuration of the space. On average, 2 installers can install approximately 40/45 square meters per day. As the raised floor doesn’t require adhesives there will be no drying time needed. IN TERMS OF LOAD CAPACITIES, IS THE RAISED FLOOR SAFE? Thanks to the different combinations of panel core, upper and lower coverings and type of substructure, it’s possible to customize the system in order to meet the specific loading requirements and the customer’s needs. The structural loading of the raised floor can be increased to make it suitable for vehicles, making access flooring available for use in car showrooms: www.newfloor.net/en/references/ AT WHICH STAGE OF THE CONSTRUCTION SITE THE RAISED FLOOR SHOULD BE INSTALLED? The installation should be done when the construction site is going to be finished, just before the furniture mounting. Doors and windows must be already installed and the rooms must be empty and clean. The concrete slab have to be regular, otherwise we suggest to use a cementitious leveling and if necessary a dustproof primer; not least, the underfloor systems should be completed.
HOW CAN I COLLECT THE GOODS? The goods must travel on a curtainsider trailer or equipped with tarpaulin. Each pallet must be anchored with belts to guarantee the safety of other vehicles and the stability of the goods themselves. The pallets should not be stacked during transport. We also recommend you to confirm the accessibility of the vehicle to the construction site in terms of trucks dimensions, opening times and special permits and to always define in advance the unloading operations. The handling of the material is always to be excluded, unless agreed in advance. CAN I STORE THE GOODS OUTSIDE? No, the goods must be stored in a dry and covered place based on the environmental conditions printed on the packaging. Once the material is installed, remember that the room temperature must be between 10° C and 35° C and the relative humidity maintained between 40% and 70%. HOW CAN I CLEAN THE RAISED FLOOR? The general rule for cleaning a raised floor is to use a well wrung cloth and neutral detergents, according to the top covering applied. The presence of stagnant water or high humidity could be dangerous to the system, not only for the durability of the panel but also for the systems housed in the plenum. HOW CAN I CUT THE PANELS ALONG THE PERIMETER? For each type of panel there are different equipment and methods for cutting it: • Chipboard panel without top covering or with resilient finish (rubber, pvc, high pressure laminate, linoleum) and natural wood, can be cut with the aid of a circular or band saw equipped with diamond blade; • Chipboard panel with hard top coverings (ceramic tile, natural stone, reconstituted stone with marble, quartz or cement base) has to be cut in 2 steps: the cutting of the top covering must be done with an angle grinder with diamond disc while the wooden core must be cut with a circular saw; • Calcium sulphate panel without top finish or with resilient finish (rubber, pvc, high pressure laminate, linoleum) and natural wood, can be cut with the aid of a circular or band saw equipped with diamond blade. If the calcium sulphate has not top finish it’s also possible to use the angle grinder with diamond disc; • Calcium sulphate panel and X-floor panel with hard top coverings (porcelain/ceramic, natural stone, reconstituted stone with marble, quartz or cement base) can be cut using an angle grinder with diamond disc or wet saw. Each cutting tool (except the band saw), should be combined with a suitable vacuum cleaner since the cutting of the panel can generate dust.
