4.1 Glossary

Term

Definition

The term “access control” denotes a technique used to define or restrict the rights of individuals or application programs to obtain data from, or place data onto, a storage device. A role responsible for the day to day operation of the corporate records management policy. The tasks attributed to Administrators may be divided between several roles, with titles such as Records Manager, Records Officer, Archivist, etc. Graphical business process model used to depict the existing condition of a business process. Used for the analysis of current business process steps and activities. Typically produced with input from business subject matter experts / business process owners. The tasks, procedural steps, organizations or people, required input and output information, and tools needed for each step in a business process. A workflow approach to analyzing and managing a business process can be combined with an object-oriented programming approach, which tends to focus on documents, data, and databases. This is commonly referred to as ‘Automated Workflow.”
