Common functions of business intelligence technologies are reporting, online analytical processing, analytics, data mining, process mining, complex event processing, business performance management, benchmarking, text mining, predictive analytics and prescriptive analytics . Business process improvement (BPI) is a systematic approach to help an organization optimize its underlying processes to achieve more efficient results. The methodology was first documented in H. James Harrington's 1991 book Business Process Improvement. Closed-circuit television (CCTV), also known as video surveillance, is the use of video cameras to transmit a signal to a specific place, on a limited set of monitors. An approach to transitioning individuals, teams, and organizations to a desired future state. It focuses on how people and teams are affected by an organizational transition. It deals with many different disciplines, from behavioral and social sciences to information technology and business solutions. In a project management context, change management may refer to the change control process wherein changes to the scope of a project are formally introduced and approved. Short for customer relationship management, CRM entails all aspects of interaction a company has with its customer, whether it be sales or service related. Software providing functionality specific to a department in an organization, features and functions not required by any other department. In government, and example might be a Library Information System or Police Department 911 system, both systems which no other department requires. Departmental application software solves department specific problems and may integrate with enterprise systems.
