physicists travelled to Geneva to visit CERN and the Large Hadron Collider — an unforge tt able glimpse into the future of science. Year 12 physicists enjoyed a STEM ac ti vity day at Liverpool University , where they took part in hands ‐ on workshops, including an engineering challenge to design and build hovercra ft s. They explored nuclear physics through a prac ti cal session on radia ti on shielding, gaining valuable insight into real ‐ world scien ti fi c applica ti ons. Meanwhile, A ‐ level Business and Economics students brought their subject to life through a visit to Amazon’s Ful fi llment Centre . The trip o ff ered an invaluable look into the company’s cu tti ng ‐ edge use of robo ti cs, logis ti cs, and workplace innova ti on — linking theory with real ‐ world prac ti ce and o ff ering a glimpse into one of the world’s most in fl uen ti al organisa ti ons. Year 12 Psychology students also visited Shrewsbury Prison to explore how the environment can contribute to ins ti tu ti onal aggression. Touring key areas and hearing real ‐ life accounts brought classroom theory vividly to life, while an escape room challenge added an interac ti ve and memorable end to the day.
