Our extensive co ‐ curricular programme provides pupils with opportuni ti es to boost their con fi dence, develop new skills, expand knowledge, and meet new friends. Girls are also encouraged to run clubs themselves, further developing their leadership and organisa ti onal skills. Combined Cadet Force Queen’s cadets have once again embraced the opportuni ti es and challenges that come with being part of the Combined Cadet Force, developing leadership, resilience, and a strong sense of service.
All expedi ti on par ti cipants took part in training sessions held within the school grounds this March. Bronze, Silver, and Gold students completed their prac ti ce expedi ti ons in May. This was followed by the qualifying expedi ti ons in June for the Bronze and Silver par ti cipants. The Gold students completed their four ‐ day qualifying expedi ti on in Snowdonia Na ti onal Park in early July. Our pupils have volunteered their ti me with a variety of organisa ti ons this year, including charity shops, libraries, coaching, and animal sanctuaries. It is a delight to see how our girls
In November, cadets proudly represented the School at the Chester Remembrance Parade , standing alongside other con ti ngents to honour those who have served and sacri fi ced for our country. It was a moving occasion, and an honour for our pupils to be involved in such an important civic tradi ti on. Meanwhile, former cadet and alumna Fiona Johnson ‘22 represented St Andrew’s University O ffi cer Training Corp in their Service of Remembrance. Fiona con ti nues to impress in her role as Junior Under O ffi cer, frequently taking part in training exercises across Scotland while studying Geography and Sustainable Development. We were thrilled to see Year 11 students Harriet Bentham ‐ Smith, Kera Monaghan and Eleanora Pond promoted to the rank of Sergeant, having successfully completed the demanding Senior Cadet Instructor Cadre (SCIC) at Altcar Army Training Camp . Over fi ve intense days, the girls developed their leadership, instruc ti onal techniques, and subject knowledge at 3 ‐ Star level, covering fi eldcra ft , drill, naviga ti on, military knowledge, and more. Their commitment, teamwork, and determina ti on were evident throughout. Phoebe Stacey in Year 9 had the wonderful opportunity to put her classroom lessons to the test as she took to the sky in a fl ying experience with Cadets! This hands ‐ on experience allowed her to apply her knowledge in the sky, making for an unforge tt able and educa ti onal adventure! Mrs Dawson Duke of Edinburgh Award This Spring saw Miss O’Brien taking over from Mrs Walker as Duke of Edinburgh Manager, and many pupils across the school have signed up for their Bronze, Silver, and Gold Duke of Edinburgh award programmes.

are suppor ti ng their local communi ti es across the region. Our students have dedicated 1,079 hours of volunteering in the past year which has an es ti mated social value of £6,904. New skills have been gained in areas such as croche ti ng, cooking, music, drama, and sports, all of which re fl ect on the talented community we have at Queen’s. Students con ti nue to complete a broad range of ac ti vi ti es for the skills sec ti on of the award, including climbing, dancing, horse riding, hockey and netball. Our Gold Award students have also been comple ti ng their residen ti al part of the award and immersing themselves in new experiences, ranging from cookery to sailing, and working with unfamiliar faces. The award has allowed young people to evidence their commitment, resilience and depth of character through comple ti ng each sec ti on independently. The girls displayed
