Media wrap up The year 2022-23 has been our busiest on record for advocacy and media coverage for Housing Choices. With more than 1800 stories related to Housing Choices Australia being published and aired, including a number of mainstream TV news stories on ABC, WIN TV (TAS) Channel 9 (VIC) and Channel 7 (TAS) as well as strong state-specific media coverage, most notably South Australia where the inclusion of Catherine House coverage pushed the story count to 2591. Managing Director, Michael Lennon penned an opinion piece in The Advertiser urging the government to incorporate social housing into Federal infrastructure. Working closely with CHIA, Housing Choices provided resident interviewees for ABC Radio Melbourne and the Herald Sun where we featured in a front-page story on housing aordability.

Housing Choices continues to lead the sector in rich social media content, advocating for ourselves and community housing more broadly, with an engagement uplift across our social platforms: LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook pages across all states. We also featured in a book for the first time, The Place Economy, a publication dedicated to housing, planning and environment with profits going to Habitat for Humanity. Housing Choices were interviewed among 100 global experts in 80 stories celebrating the people and places that make cities great, alongside the barriers and challenges facing communities in Australia and abroad. The spread featured an interview with one of our tenants and a number of our innovative properties including St Albans in Melbourne and Spence on Light in Adelaide.
