LAFAYETTE SUMMER FUN & BEING SAFE! I hope you’re enjoying summer in Lafayette! With amazing weather and extensive trail systems, there are countless outdoor opportunities. Visit lovelafayette.org/visitor/trails for maps and details. For downtown activities, check out shopping, dining, and services at experiencelafayetteca.org. The City has been busy with summer projects around schools while students are out. Current work includes the new pathway to Springhill Elementary, paving on St. Mary’s and Mt. Diablo Blvd, EBMUD pipeline replacement on Reliez Valley, and Central San roadwork on Upper Happy Valley Road. Please drive carefully in construction zones. With back-to-school starting August 12, let’s prioritize student safety by keeping cars away from schools during drop-off and pickup. Parents should consider carpools and alternative drop-off locations near schools that offer safe passage—contact school administration for suggestions. Residents without school-aged children, please continue to “Slow Down Lafayette!” Our safety campaign has been successful, but extra caution is needed when kids return. Since traffic is slow during school hours, avoiding driving near schools during peak times would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you to everyone who made this special issue possible! YOUR GREET LAFAYETTE CONTRIBUTORS AND TEAM
