ON CAMPUS & BEYOND

As the State's budget cuts will have a negative impact on schools and educational programs, we continue to look at ways to reduce spending and increase revenue to avoid staff reductions and cuts to programs. One cost-saving strategy is implementing a "dark week" simultaneously across all of our campuses (schools and District office) during the summer. This would enable the District to save a significant amount of money on utilities for one week. The "dark week" will take place the summer before the 2025-2026 school year. The dates are Monday, July 7, 2025, to Friday, July 11, 2025. This week was chosen to avoid spanning two fiscal years, it aligns with CIF non-contact/dead week regulations for athletics, would give community groups notice of the closures, and affords impacted employees the opportunity to plan ahead. Another proposed change may be to the Academic School Calendars for the 25/26 and 26/27 school years. Discussions are continuing and further information will be provided once a decision is reached. For our District, one percent of ADA equates to approximately $500,000 . We are only receiving 93% of our State funding. If we can continue to find ways to decrease student absences, we will be able to capture the lost State funding. EVERY MINUTE COUNTS... Make appointments at the beginning or end of a day so that students can attend at least one block during the school day

Students’ education is negatively impacted when they miss a day of school - stepping onto campus for even one block helps students stay on target academically and socially Plan family vacations when school is not in session

Make ATTENDANCE matter and make a difference in the lives of ALL students!
