Publishers Produce Camping Material Those faced with the responsi bility of making a week of camp attractive for young people of all ages, will welcome the tremendous ly helpful and attractive new ma terials made available this year by S c r i p t u r e Pr e s s Publishers of Wheaton, Illinois. Of special interest are the books, “Camp Director’s Handbook” and “How to be a Camp Counselor,” 50 and 60 cents respectively. The former volume gives directions for camp leaders and directors show ing how to best plan and promote an effective week-long camp. Sam ple daily schedules are included. The latter book provides specific practical information which coun- . selors need to know in preparing for this important ministry. Quali fications, preparation, duties, hints on follow-up are but a few of the subjects covered. In addition to these two books, Scripture Press has produced a new line of class teaching materials which include the instructor’s manual containing material for five morning classes, each 40 or 50 minutes long. Discussion is encour aged with questions under the title of “ Do You Agree?” Expressional booklets for each camper and every age are a part of the new and help ful series. In addition to {rosters, probably the most appealing feature to young people will be the camp stamp books. Young people are given the empty book, then buy stamps from the church youth leader in the weeks leading up to camp. The books and stamps are a part of the materials Scripture Press provides. This feature encour ages the young people to save systematically. Suggestions are even given on the first page to assist the young people in money-raising ideas such as odd-jobs and baby sitting. This material has been needed for a long time. It has been beauti fully prepared and certainly a real credit to the ministry of reaching youth during the important hours of summer camp. A complete sam ple packet is available for only $3.50 from the publisher. The above material is available from the BIOLA Book Room, 560 S. Hope St., Los Angeles 17, Calif. A fast mail order serv ice is maintained for your convenience.
