TRAVELLING TO BARBUDA
BY BOAT There are charter companies based in Antigua who will take you on a private day trip from Antigua to Barbuda such as Barefoot Antigua who we previously travelled with. BY HELICOPTER Calvin Air does not only operate tours of Antigua, Barbuda and Montserrat, they also assist citizens when other options to transport medical emergencies are unavailable. There is no public transport on Barbuda and there are no taxi ranks either. So if you need a taxi to greet you on arrival, make sure you book one in advance.
BY PLANE A small 7 seater plane run by SVG Airlines, leaves twice daily from Antigua to Barbuda, departing once in the early morning, the other, late afternoon. The flight arrives and leaves from the small Codrington airport which is a short walk into the village. There is a very strict weight allowance policy, so if you are over-weight in person or in luggage you will be charged extra. We would recommend you double check your reservation a few days before the date you fly, just in case there are any time changes or cancellations.
