n DENNIS BEACH BAR RESTAURANT Ffryes Beach

Just on the corner of Ffryes Beach, this warm and friendly spot owned and run by chef Dennis Thomas, offers the perfect mix of Caribbean specialities and international food, so if you fancy being adventurous and trying a local speciality this is the perfect place to do just that. They also have a fully stocked bar, but it is the eponymous rum punch which is probably the most common thing ordered by tourists and locals alike.

The Goat Curry is an absolute must-try, as is the Rum Punch, which is really refreshing with just the right kick, perfect for a day at the beach.

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the fantastic staff who love working here. We even met their adorable cat! It’s clear this place has a great vibe and a welcoming atmosphere and the view here is absolutely breathtaking, one of the best in Antigua. We had the pleasure of trying two popular dishes: the pan-fried red snapper with creole sauce and the famous goat curry. Both were absolutely delicious. The goat curry, in particular, stood out with its tender meat and rich flavours. Dennis’s Beach Bar has been around for 25 years, becoming a staple for both locals and tourists who know it for its incredible food and vibrant events. The restaurant is open from 10 AM to 6 PM providing a perfect spot for lunch or an early dinner. Sun loungers are available on the beach, and you can get drinks at the bar and enjoy them on the loungers! They also have some special nights with extended opening hours - on Friday nights you can enjoy a barbecue and bonfire on the beach with a menu featuring roast suckling pig, Although not a beach restaurant per se, Kon Tiki Bar is just a hundred yards off the beach and is accessed by boat from Dickenson Bay Beach. A floating platform with a bar on it where the rum punch flows and the party never stops. If you happen to be on a boat trip and have caught some fish the owners are usually happy to bbq it on the side of the platform for you, just as long as you are happy to share! For those looking for a truly exceptional fine dining experience, this latest addition to the Tamarind Hills resort has you covered. The menu melds Caribbean delicacies with a variety of international cuisines, the lunch, and dinner menus offer guests unique dishes made with the freshest ingredients and the result is truly delicious. There is an extensive wine list and expertly crafted cocktails to complement the food and some beachside events to keep guests entertained during their meal. The décor is chic and contemporary but with a nod to traditional Caribbean style and exquisite views of plush white-sand beaches. n KON TIKI BAR Dickenson Bay Beach u WILD TAMARIND RESTAURANT Ffryes Beach

n BEACH BUM BAR Half Moon Bay

This is one of our children’s favourite places to go because of its delicious burgers and chicken wings but it’s the delicious rum punch slushies that do it for us, perfect for those partial to a little pirate juice. With friendly and helpful service, and the option to eat in the restaurant or on the beach, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy some lunch before or after enjoying the spectacular bay it’s located in.
