n THE LARDER A little further outside the main shopping area on Friar’s Hill Road, The Larder is one of our favourites, it’s a café, restaurant, deli, pizza and ice-cream bar, and is perfect for eating in or grabbing a take-away on your way to the shops or to the beach. The cakes, particularly the carrot cake which is possibly the best I’ve ever tasted, they’re are an amazing accompaniment for your latte.
n THE CORK AND BASKET This food emporium not only has an amazing deli fine cheeses, charcuterie and Olives, a store carrying wine, spirits, sauces and spices from all over the world, they serve delicious tea and coffee, and do a selection of sweet treats including, macarons, New York style cheesecake and pecan pie. Donut Ace is a locally grown company which started in 2015 by young chef Akeem C. Edwards. It is a great spot loved by locals and tourists alike that have so many different flavours of doughnut you are sure to find at least one that you like. Our boys absolutely love the doughnuts here, but for me it’s their cinnamon rolls I find particularly delicious. n DONUT ACE St John’s
n FRED’S BELGIUM WAFFLE AND ICE-CREAM This is such a great place to pop into after a day walking around the town and doing a bit of shopping. As well as serving coffee, they also have a wide selection of ice cream flavours and toppings to go with their delicious made to order waffles. Yum!
