academic support services. By maintaining open lines of communication, the Department Chair is able to address any administrative issues or concerns that may impact the nursing students or programs. Additionally, they work collaboratively with these units to ensure that the nursing program is compliant with institutional policies and procedures. The Department Chair is the liaison with Executive management and participates in the budget for the nursing program. The Department Chair is responsible for assuring all equipment and supply needs are met for successful delivery of the nursing programs. (d) Participation in institutional policy and program decisions that affect teaching and learning within the nursing program, prerequisite, or support courses; Institutional Policy decisions are governed by the accrediting body (ABHES), by the Office of Degree Authorization and (HECC-ODA) the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN). Within these limits, the college has developed policies and procedures in which all programs must abide.
