Section 3: Standards for Approval: Nursing Faculty: 851-021-0045 (1)

(1) Nursing program faculty must include a sufficient number of qualified Nurse Educators and Nurse Educator Associates to meet the identified learning outcomes of the nursing education program. Assessment Expected Level of Achievement Frequency of Assessment Assessment Method

The nursing program employs an adequate mix of nurse educators and nurse educator associates to effectively deliver curricula to enrolled students. The College makes every effort to assure the nurse educator is comfortable with teaching assigned courses. The Nurse Administrator has minimal teaching hours to allow for time to manage the program (less than 10%). Nurse educators shall hold at least a baccalaureate degree in nursing and have at least 3 years of nursing experience and be licensed in Oregon unless appointed by Exception A, B, C, or D. Nurse educator Associate shall hold at least a baccalaureate degree in nursing and have at least 2 years of nursing experience and be licensed in Oregon

Collect official academic transcripts and review credentials at time of hire (Director of Education and Nurse Administrator, Human Resources).

● New hire evaluation: This date range can vary based on number of hours taught/course taught to assure the instructor, as well as FTE or PTE employee status. ● Annually ● Upon completion of obtaining a higher credential

Confirm licensure and renewal (OSBN)

Verify academic program in which faculty member is enrolled and completion date (Exception C appointment).
