At Sumner College, we prioritize the professional development of our faculty members to ensure the delivery of high-quality education in our nursing program. To achieve this, we have implemented a policy that mandates periodic reviews of teaching responsibilities and the evaluation and revision of professional development plans as needed. This policy involves collaboration between the Nurse Administrator, faculty members, and the Director of Education. Under this policy, the Nurse Administrator, in collaboration with Human Resources, takes a proactive role in reviewing the credentials and experience of each faculty member. This assessment helps determine the most suitable teaching assignments for each instructor based on their expertise and qualifications.
The college also offers an annual planning conference that includes training for staff and faculty.
Comments from Survey Monkey, submitted by students, will be used to give feedback to faculty, contributing to individual and program development plans.
