VITAGOS Technical Sheet

Technical Information

VITAGOS™ - Galacto-Oligosaccharides Galacto-Oligosaccharides (GOS) are composed of 1-8 galactosyl moiety with or without a terminal glucosyl moiety (Figure 1). GOS are produced from lactose by enzymatic reaction and are also referred to as ‘trans-GOS’. GOS structure resembles oligosaccharides occurring naturally in human milk. GOS are very complex mixtures and their exact oligosaccharide spectrums depend on the enzyme and conditions used in their manufacturing.
